What got me started on this path? Over four years ago I read The Art of Mending by Elizabeth Berg. What struck me most about the story was that the main character was able to make a living making custom quilts and I thought, "That's so cool. I want to do that." The push that got me beyond a thought to actually learning how to sew and quilt was that soon after reading the book my sister announced she was having a baby. Well, quilting is a bit like eating fresh-baked gingersnap cookies; you can't stop with just one. That one baby quilt led to a full-time obsession with sewing all kinds of things. It's been so gratifying to be able to think that I need something specific and then being able to make it in a couple of hours as opposed to trying (sometimes unsuccessfully) to find something comparable in a store.
So with this blog I plan to share my love for creating things, what I've learned and continue to learn about this fantastic world of making, and give back to this virtual community of wonderful, creative sewing and quilting community.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. If you have any questions, I'd love to hear from you.
